Choosing the right treatment
Regarding effectiveness, all the inhibitors of Phosphodiesterase 5 (iPDE5) such as Viagra®, Cialis®, Spedra®, Levitra® and their generics have shown to be effective in around 80% for users and are considered the first choice to treat erectile dysfunction if there aren't any contraindications. Virirec® (alprostadil cream) is also effective to treat erectile dysfunction and can be considered in cases where iPDE5 cannot be used, or when user prefers not to take tablets.

Side effects, as mentioned earlier, are generally mild and temporary. The frequency of each side effect may vary between medications, so it's important to discuss this with the doctor to consider changing treatments if needed.

All iPDE5 share contraindications. If one treatment cannot be taken due to contraindications, none of them should be taken. On the other hand, if there are no contraindications, any of them can be used. Virirec® can be considered in some cases where iPDE5 cannot be used, so it can be a good alternative.

Since these medications have different onset times and durations of effect, user preferences play an important role here.
For example, Cialis is effective up to 36 hours, making it a suitable option for individuals who prefer not to coordinate their sexual activity with medication intake. For those engaging in sexual activity more than 3 times a week, Cialis 5mg may be a good option.
On the other hand, those who don't want to take a pill daily or have more sporadic sexual activity can opt for one of the other treatments.
And for those that prefer not to take tablets, Virirec® could be a good option.

In the end, it's about finding the option that best suits each one. If you're not sure which to choose, do your consultation with us, and our doctors will help you decide which one to try.
